We do not accept formatted Digital works but are happy to format your manuscript that is submitted as an Unformatted ‘Word Doc’ (already digital) and on a disk or sent via email. As you can see, most of our services are priced per/page so all you have to do to determine the cost for your book is count the pages, (front and back if you’ve used both sides of your paper), and multiply by the cost of the services you want. WHAT IS A PAGE - A “page” is considered an 8 ½ inch x 11 inch paper that is double spaced with no smaller than ½ inch top and bottom margins and 1” left and right margins; text that is no smaller than 12 point Times Roman, Arial or similar and printed only on one side of the paper. If your manuscript does not fit the above definition, we suggest you forward it to us for an estimate. Nonconformity always requires more handling which means a higher rate. Please remember that your manuscript must be typed before it can be formatted. *Handwritten manuscripts require a deposit prior to our typing them. Our fee is based on the number of finished, typed pages. PHOTOS - We try our best to use the photos or art that you submit, but sometimes the quality prohibits that. The printer requires high-resolution (at least 300dpi) on covers or they will be rejected. Photos that appear inside the book are acceptable at a lower resolution with the understanding they may be of a lesser quality and grainy. ROUGH DRAFT - After we completely format the manuscript, we have to send it to you to proof; we charge $10.00 to print and mail. You are to take that draft and make the necessary changes and mail back only the pages with corrections. If there are extensive changes/corrections, it will be necessary for you to proof another draft – so, another $10.00. COVERS - Our fees for cover design are as follows: Complete cover design w/layout $100.00 - $250* Layout using your digital art $75.00 Layout using color & text only $50.00 *We have made arrangements with some professional conventional and graphic/digital artist to help our author’s covers or art for drastically reduced rates!!! RETAINED SERVICES - We have other services we can provide on a retained basis which include helping you get your work copyrighted, buying and registering your ISBN, submitting your book to publishers, submitting your eBook to other book sale sites, building websites for you to sell your books from, and other advertising, as well as research related to your book topics, etc. Our rate is $10.00/hour payable in $50.00 increments. Retainers can also be used for us to do mailings for you when you purchase flyers or other marketing materials (to addresses you provide).
				ISBN - we no long use the ISBN provided by CreateSpace. We discovered that unless our author's elect to pay the 60% commission to sell through their "extended network," their book is not listed in books in print. We offer to share the cost of an ISBN provided by Midnight Express Books for a cost to the author of $75.00. Or, if the author prefers to have one registered in their name, they can purchase the ISBN and barcode through MEB for $200.00. We will not accept ISBN purchased elsewhere.
